OM Jungle Medicine

Shanenawá Culture, Ancestral Knowledge & Sacred Medicine Week

March 18–24, 2027

Shanenawá Culture, Ancestral Knowledge & Sacred Medicine Week

Join us at OM Jungle Medicine for a deeply immersive week with Pajé Huse and his family of the Shanenawá, the People of the Blue Bird from the Brazilian Amazon.

This retreat is an invitation to experience the Shanenawá beyond ceremony: to learn about the people, culture, traditions and ancestral knowledge that surround their sacred medicines.

Throughout this week, the jungle becomes our classroom.

Guests will learn traditional Shanenawá weaving alongside Pajé Huse’s wife, discovering the techniques and cultural knowledge carried through this ancestral art.

We will explore Shanenawá graphism, learning directly from the tribe about the traditional patterns, designs and symbolism that have been passed through generations.

In OM’s medicinal gardens, we will work hands-on with the plants themselves, learning how medicinal plants are propagated, transplanted and cared for, following the process from beginning to end and deepening our relationship with the living medicines of the Earth.

Throughout the week, Pajé Huse and his family will also share the songs, prayers, stories, art and customs of the Shanenawá, allowing us to experience traditions that cannot truly be understood from a book or a screen, but are passed from person to person.

And at the heart of the week will be the sacred medicine ceremonies.

This retreat is not simply about coming to the jungle to receive medicine. It is about understanding the culture that carries the medicine.

To sit together.
To weave together.
To plant together.
To learn together.
To sing and pray together.
And to enter ceremony together.

For one week, the Shanenawá will share not only their sacred medicines, but pieces of the living culture, knowledge and traditions that surround them.

An opportunity to meet the medicine through the people who carry it.

Meet your indigenous facilitator:

Born and raised in Kene Mera (Paredão) village, Pajé Huse comes from a lineage deeply rooted in the spiritual traditions of his people.

From a young age, he began learning the ways of the sacred medicines: gathering and preparing the plants, studying Uni, learning the prayers and chants, and eventually serving medicine and holding ceremony himself.

Pajé Huse carries a deep respect and dedication to Uni and conducts his ceremonies through prayer, music, meditation and the spiritual traditions passed down through his family and ancestors. He also carries the tradition of pajelança, focused one-to-one spiritual healing work for those seeking a more personal healing experience.
